Those close-together flats near Laurel Street cause a specific problem for the outdoor condenser. Side yards are narrow, and a unit crammed against a fence with the neighbor's condenser two feet away does not get the clearance it needs. Restricted airflow shows up as a system that short cycles or trips on high head pressure on a warm afternoon. Up in the hills, the bigger Evolution homes need their zoning and bypass damper set correctly or one room in the house never quite gets comfortable.
